Overview
Vivaldi. Handel £ 12.00 Signum Records are proud to present the debut orchestral recording from Grace Davidson, one of the UK’s leading British sopranos specialising in Baroque music. Antonio Vivaldi - Autumn (Full) - The Four Seasons George Frideric Handel was a German-British Baroque composer, famous for his operas and oratorios. He was born in 1685 to a family indifferent to music, whom thought he would pursue a career as a lawyer. Before reaching the age of 7, he seemed to have mastered the organ and harpsichord. Apr 22, 2021 Only music of Handel's I've heard so far is the Alla Hornpipe from Water Music Suite 2 and the Sarabande from his Keyboard Suite in D Minor, both of which i like very much, and for Vivaldi i recall hearing 2 out of the 4 seasons, which i also liked very much. This extremely difficult Dixit Dominus by Handel is hard to perform, but the Southport Bach Choir did it yesterday with merit and the cd was most helpful to listen to. This cd includes other works (Vivaldi etc) which is a bonus.
H+H concertmaster Aisslinn Nosky directs this captivating program of Vivaldi, featuring the H+H string section and the inspiring countertenor Reginald Mobley. Host Emily Marvosh converses with the musicians before they perform each piece, allowing our audience to share their insights into the music, performed in the evocative setting of St. Cecilia Parish. Enjoy the bright exuberance of this Baroque celebration as H+H’s Orchestra members capture the thrill of when the music was first composed.
